A little article copied over from the Derby Evening Telegraph…so so so so so excited to be involved in Kate Halfpenny’s wedding. I can’t even begin to tell you how much. Over the moon, thrilled beyond words, a little apprehensive, bursting with ideas, wishing the next few months away so it can be here…I sound like I’m the one getting married!!!!
Seriously, huge congratulations Kate & James on your wedding & see you both soon.
”Karen Eggleton, who used her vintage crockery collection as a basis for a business will be supplying one of Derbyshire’s highest-profile weddings next year.
Allestree-based Darby and Joan, run by Karen Eggleton, will be providing china for the marriage of celebrity stylist and bridalwear designer Kate Halfpenny.
The firm will provide a range of crockery from table settings to serving bowls for the 200 guests.
Mrs Eggleton said: “Kate is hugely respected in the wedding industry and so it is absolutely fantastic for me to work with her.
“She has lots of fabulous ideas for the wedding and loves the pieces that I’ve shown her.”
None of the crockery will match but will be made up of Mrs Eggleton’s collection of vintage English china.
It has been built up by visiting car boot sales, house clearances and auctions.
Derbyshire-born Miss Halfpenny has designed costumes for adverts for Pepsi, Ghost, Moschino and Hugo Boss and has styled George Michael, Kate Moss, Twiggy, Shirley Bassey and Pixie Lott.
Her wedding will take place in Derbyshire but as a number of high-profile celebrities will be attending, the location has not been disclosed.”
A day at a stunning hotel in Sheffield, a group of super talented creatives from the wedding industry, a vintage inspired 1040′s wedding shoot idea from Ruth at Sweet Words Stationery and was styled with the help of Chloe from Adore …here is the result…
The shoot was a lot of fun & gave us all lots of opportunity to indulge our love of beautiful table settings – I’m sure you will agree that the photographs are gorgeous.
I hope the dresses, table settings, hair, flowers & styling gives you some inspiration if you are thinking of incoporating some vintage loveliness into your wedding day. You don’t have to embrace the whole theme wholeheartedly – small, well thought out touches can turn an event into something really special & will give your guests something a little bit different to enjoy & remember.
Hello everyone, I am still getting the hang of this blogging lark, so please bear with me if my posts are few & far between!
I had a lovely afternoon yesterday in what I can only describe in my dream house, trying on dream vintage wedding dresses at the newly opened Unforgettable Vintage Bridal Gowns boutique, just outside Leamington Spa.
I had met the two creatives behind the brand, Sisters Rae & Hannah, at the Vintage Chic Wedding Fair in June & we hit if off straight away. I was bursting to try on some of their beautiful dresses & finally plucked up the courage to spend half an hour in a world of my own, wafting up & down a sweeping staircase in their original vintage, breathtakingly beautiful, bridal gowns. They took pity on my urge to dress up & invited me for a trying-on session in their boutique so that I may indulge my fantasies more & model for them at the upcoming Vintage Chic Wedding Fair at the Custard Factory, Birmingham on 30th October. I thought about it for 3 seconds before agreeing!
They had a visit from Lucy Stendall a couple of weeks ago, who is a wonderfully talented wedding & portrait photographer “specialising in good old fashioned sweet love” – I love that quote from her website. She too was blown away by the dresses, the venue & the warmth of the girls & suggested a photo shoot to showcase all those things…they have asked Darby & Joan to be involved with the project & we will be supplying all of the vintage china, linens, accessories & adding our own ideas & styling to the shoot & I CANNOT WAIT! I was awake in the early hours this morning jotting down ideas & putting together mood boards, so I am beyond excited.
If any of you lovelies out there are looking for some vintage inspiration then I cannot recommend these two companies enough. Their service, attention to detail & genuine love of what they do shines through & you will love what they do too.
