Hello everyone, as the festive season is about to kick off, we will be sharing cocktail and canapé recipes with you over the next couple of weeks.
Now this bad boy packs a punch. A cocktail that’s sure to knock your socks off with it’s sweet flavour and a hit of gin.
You will need
1 1/2 oz gin (I use Hendricks) which has had several strands of saffron infusing in it for a few hours
1/2 oz sugar syrup
Caster sugar in a saucer
Chilled dry champagne
Thyme sprig to finish
How to make it
Dip the top edge of an upright Champagne glass in a bit of water.
Whip off any big drops by shaking your wrist while holding the glass.
Dip the top edge of the glass into the sugar.
Pour the gin, the juice from the orange, sugar syrup and ice in a cocktail shaker.
Shake vigorously and strain into the champagne flute.
Top with chilled champagne and garnish with the sprig of thyme or a couple of saffron strands if you prefer.
